Otter Goes to School by Sam Garton
We were surprised when we heard that Otter was planning to be a teacher. Although it is a very enjoyable and fulfilling job, teaching can be stressful at times so we were eager to see how she would cope in the classroom.
World Giraffe Day
June 21st is World Giraffe Day! World Giraffe Day celebrates the longest necked animal on the longest day of the year. There are some great giraffes in children’s fiction and we found several giraffes on our bookshelves.
Fictional Best Friends
What would we do without a best friend? June 8th is National Best Friends Day in the USA and we had great fun looking through our book collection to find some of our favourite fictional best friends.
I Am Otter by Sam Garton
We have been reading and enjoying Otter’s stories and musings on her blog for a while and we were very excited when we heard that (with Sam Garton’s help!) she has written a picture book, I Am Otter, which also includes her best friend Teddy and a patchwork Giraffe.
