The little boy on yesterday’s Story Snug Advent Calendar has just been on a magical Christmas Eve ride on The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg. The Polar Express was chosen by ReadItDaddy and Charlotte for our 2015 #StorySnugAdvent Calendar.
The Story: On Christmas Eve a young boy, whose friend has told him that Santa doesn’t exist, lies quietly in bed listening for sleigh bells. When a mysterious train magically appears outside his house he climbs aboard and joins a group of children on an amazing journey to The North Pole to meet Santa! Santa will give one special child the first Christmas gift and the boy is delighted to be chosen…
This magically atmospheric story with its dark, vintage style illustrations has been made into an amazing film. The boy’s gift is very special, his parents think that it is broken but only somebody who believes in Santa can use it.

In our penultimate picture it’s nearly Christmas and many parents will be able to identify with this frazzled Bear who is trying to deal with a very excited Ted…

Do you know the name of the book? The title is the same as the question that Ted asks throughout the story!
