Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree - Story Snug

Story Snug Advent – December 11th: Mr Willowby’s Christmas Tree

December 11th: Mr Willowby’s Christmas Tree

Yesterday’s special delivery was Mr Willowby’s Christmas Tree by Robert Barry.

The Story: Mr Willowby’s Christmas Tree is too tall for his parlour so the butler chops the top off and gives it to the maid. It is too tall for the maid’s mantelpiece so she chops the top off and Timm, the gardener, rescues it. The sequence continues with a variety of animals taking the top off the tree until the mouse family receive the very top part…

We love Robert Barry’s vintage illustrations which take us back to a world before technology and mobile phones. The animals in the story are really cute and have the most joyous expressions when they receive their trees, it’s hard to choose a favourite illustration but we love the little mice enjoying their tiny little tree.

Today somebody is very busy making Christmas tree decorations…

Do you know who is busy making paper decorations? What is the title of the book?
