December 18th: Seek and Find A Christmas Carol
Yesterday’s house belonged to Scrooge from Search and Find A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and Louise Pigott.
The Story: On Christmas Eve Scrooge refuses an invitation to spend Christmas with his nephew Fred and his employee Bob Cratchit goes home to his family. During the night Scrooge is visited by the ghost of Christmas past who takes him back to his childhood, the ghost of Christmas present who takes him to visit the Cratchit family and the ghost of Christmas future who shows him his grave. On Christmas morning he wakes up a changed man. He sends Bob’s family a turkey and spends a wonderful day with Fred.
Each double page spread shows a scene from the story and there are ten items to find in each picture. Louise Pigott’s illustrations are fabulously atmospheric and we love the ghost of Christmas present, he’s enormous!
