Can you believe that it’s December tomorrow?! It’s time to think about our 2019 Story Snug Advent Calendar!
We’re celebrating illustrators and their illustrations this year and are doing a pictorial Story Snug Advent Calendar. Illustrations form a huge part of a picture book and we love the warmth and Christmassy feelings that the illustrations in our favourite festive picture books give us year after year. We always put our Christmas picture books away in January and then get them out again at the beginning of December. It’s a treat to reread old favourites and also rediscover newer stories that we may have forgotten about.
Story Snug Advent Calendar 2019
Every day during December we will post part of the front cover or an image or character from a Christmas book for you to identify. There are older books and newer books and many of them have already been featured during the last seven years on Story Snug.
Each post will also feature this gorgeous illustration from Yuval Zommer, Yuval very generously drew it for Story Snug’s 2017 Advent Calendar and the animals feature in his beautiful new picture book, The Tree That’s Meant To Be.
So head over to Story Snug tomorrow for your first Advent picture clue which comes from a book that we have featured on one of our Story Snug Advent Calendars…
