Little Bunny Boo-Boo has just moved into the woods and doesn’t have any friends. During the journey Bear worries about the treacherous path and the howling gale but Esme is determined to keep going and they receive a warm welcome when they get to Little Bunny Boo-Boo’s cabin.
THE MOST WONDERFUL GIFT IN THE WORLD is a heartwarming story of friendship and giving. Bear is a lot more cautious than brave Esme but they have a wonderfully supportive relationship and are very surprised when they discover that they are what Little Bunny Boo-Boo has requested for Christmas.
Lucy Fleming’s whimsical illustrations perfectly evoke the experience of a wintery walk and a warm Christmassy atmosphere. Little Bunny Boo-Boo with her big blue glasses is absolutely adorable and we love Bear’s Christmas jumper and Esme’s cute boots.
The endpapers are beautiful wordless spreads that introduce and end the story. The first shows Little Bunny Boo-Boo arriving in the snowy woods and the final double spread is a beautiful night time scene showing a silhouette of the three characters having fun.
This beautiful Christmas story shows that material gifts are not the only gifts that can make us happy. Esme, Bear and Little Bunny Boo-Boo receive the gift of a fun day together and the start of a new friendship.
