Story Snug Advent: Q is for The Queen’s Present

Q is for The Queen’s Present by Steve Antony

The Queen’s Present takes us around the world in search of the perfect present for her grandchildren. Steve Antony’s primarily red and green illustrations add to the festive feel of the story which introduces readers to many famous landmarks (including one that we weren’t familiar with!).

The Story: The Queen enlists the help of Father Christmas to help her find the perfect present for the little prince and princess. Through the magic of Santa they fly around the world and over various landmarks including The Eiffel Tower, The Great Wall of China and a very festive looking Statue of Liberty. They can’t even find anything suitable for the children in The North Pole but when they get to Sandringham the Queen realises that she has had the perfect present for them all along!

Hi Catherine, what a lovely sounding story, proving that more often than not what we are looking for is right under our nose! I’ve been sat here trying to think of all our favourite children’s books and I cannot think of one that starts with the letter Q! That is a tricky one.

Thank you for linking up with the #MMBC.

    xx

The story proves exactly that! I’m really intrigued to know whether anybody else can find a festive or wintery book beginning with Q, it’s not an easy letter!
