This year Story Snug is counting down to Christmas with a Christmas Book Alphabet Advent Calendar!
Last year we had some fantastic Christmas book recommendations from authors, illustrators and book bloggers and many of their suggestions will be included on our Advent Calendar again this year.
We’ve had lots of fun finding festive and wintery books to correspond with each letter. Some posts have more than one suggestion but it wasn’t easy finding books for some of the letters. There are two letters that won’t be included at all as we couldn’t find any corresponding stories!
All of the Story Snug Christmas Book Alphabet blogposts will be pinned onto our Christmas Book Alphabet Pinterest Board.
You can also follow the hashtag #StorySnugAdvent on Twitter.
It would be absolutely great to hear any suggestions that you have for our Christmas Book Alphabet. We would love to add as many Christmas and wintery books as possible. Please leave your suggestions at the end of each post and we’ll do our best to include them. Alternatively you can make suggestions on Twitter using the #StorySnugAdvent hashtag.
Our home Advent Calendar is also different this year. Our daughter has a Christmas Bedtime Story Advent Calendar. Each day she will open a door and find a Christmas picture book or story to read at bedtime. We can’t wait to show it to her!
Love love LOVE the Story Book Advent Calendar. A brilliant brilliant idea, and a cracking start to your advent posts!
Thank you ReaditDaddy! We’re very much looking forward to counting down to Christmas with books 🙂
Oh what a lovely idea. I wish my son would still let me read aloud to him.
Thank you! I can’t imagine not reading aloud to my daughter, hopefully she’s let me for a long time to come! Does you son read aloud to you instead?
What a fantastic idea, gets you looking at books you wouldn’t necessarily find any other time, thanks for sharing with #ReadWithMe
Thanks Chantelle, it’s great to get new suggestions from other people too 🙂
This is such a wonderful idea! I bet the books really help you get into the spirit of things too. #MMBC
I find that doing a blogpost a day during December always makes the month fly by!!
Wow! You are so organised to alphabetise! But I’ve told so many people about your printout as an alternative to wrapping and everyone thinks it’s a genius idea! Loving seeing your daily reads on your twitter! #readwithme
I had a week off publishing blogposts at the end of last month to get the December ones set up but I’ve been working on this Advent Calendar since October! Thank you for sharing the Bedtime Story Advent Calendar 🙂
This is a good idea. There must have been a lot of work in it! All I think of is G for Grinch!
It’s taken a lot of time but it’s been fun to put together 🙂
This looks a lovely idea. But it has reminded me that I forgot to read today’s chapter from our advent book – oops #readwithme
Reading a chapter of an Advent book every day is a lovely idea 🙂
Such a great idea, I’m enjoying all your advent alphabet posts! #readwithme
Thank you! Good to hear that you’re enjoying reading them. I’m enjoying writing them 🙂
