Wow! Said The Owl by Tim Hopgood
Wow! Said The Owl is a beautifully illustrated picture book which introduces young children to the colours that are around them in the natural world.
Peace at Last by Jill Murphy
Peace at Last was a favourite story in my classroom when I started teaching. The story of Jill Murphy’s three bears takes a humorous look at not being able to sleep, a theme that is familiar to children and adults.

With an intriguing EGG shaped hole on the cover that gets smaller and smaller, this is an ‘eggs-citing Easter egg-escapade!’ for the littlest of readers.
Rabbits Don’t Lay Eggs! by Paula Metcalf & Cally Johnson-Isaacs
Rabbits Don’t Lay Eggs is a very funny, beautifully illustrated story. Although not an Easter story it is a perfect read for this time of year and has just been published as a board book.

This heartwarming story about friendship and treasure has inspired many of our crafts, learning activities, discussions and even a birthday party! It’s a wonderful story to read in preparation for St Patrick’s Day rainbow activities.
Charlotte’s Web by E. B. White
I read Charlotte’s Web as a child but had forgotten the story and how it ends. It was lovely to read it again with my daughter who enjoyed hearing about Wilbur, the pig, Charlotte, the spider, and our favourite character, Templeton, the rat.
Preposterous Rhinoceros by Tracy Gunaratnam and Marta Costa
Preposterous Rhinoceros is an amusing story which makes us laugh out loud. Rhinoceros makes several unsuccessful attempts to read books before his friend, Shy Salamander, helps him learn to read.
