‘We’re Going On A Book Hunt!’ – Book Quiz

A book quiz is a fun way for a child to think about the books that they have read and also for them to discover new books, especially in their local library or in the school classroom. They are also a great activity for a rainy day in the school holidays or a classroom time filler. I love creating book quizzes, seeing which books a child chooses and then discussing their choices with them.

A book quiz that works for all ages asks the child to find books about specific items, places or activities. I recently gave my daughter a book quiz and she enjoyed finding books, some of her choices surprised me, especially the book that makes her laugh! You can download the template for our book quiz here.

These are the books that my daughter chose in her book quiz. It was interesting to sit back and watch her look for long forgotten books and find details in books that we haven’t noticed before.

What an absolutely fantastic idea. Such a great way of getting readers to explore their library and find books they wouldn’t necessarily read. I’m very impatient for my children to get to the point where they can pick their own books out.

A book quiz for adults would be pretty fun too.

Adults could probably use a similar quiz to find books in their book collection, it would be fun to pair parents’ choices with children’s choices 🙂
