Blogtour: Ask an Illustrator – Hazel Mitchell
We’re very excited to welcome illustrator Hazel Mitchell who is visiting Story Snug as part of her ‘Imani’s Moon’ blogtour. Hazel illustrated Imani’s Moon, written by JaNay Brown-Wood, in which a mother uses the tradition of African storytelling to encourage her daughter to believe in herself.

Advent Calendars for Little Bookworms
I’ve been looking at different Advent Calendars for little bookworms in preparation for Advent. My daughter loved Christmas and Snowy’s Advent Calendar last year and although I was hoping to do something a bit different she is expecting them to come back again this year!
Lucy’s Secret Reindeer by Anne Booth / Sophy Williams
Lucy’s Secret Reindeer is a beautifully written chapter book for younger children. It’s a lovely story to read in the run up to Christmas and it would be a perfect present for Saint Nicholas to put in a child’s shoes or boots on December 6th.

We are huge fans of Kittie Lacey, The Fairytale Hairdresser, and love this newly published Christmas story which includes the fairytale characters from the previous books.

Storytime Magazine is a new monthly magazine which aims to make reading fun and support the UK National Curriculum’s emphasis on reading for pleasure.
