Christmas & Snowy 24 Story Snug

Snowy and Christmas’ Advent Calendar December 17th to 24th

We had lots more fun with our book Advent Calendar last week, it’s now only a week until Christmas Eve! Last week we had ice skating, clock watching, hide and seek, cycling and a very messy baking session. Snowy even jumped to the moon! We’re looking forward to seeing what surprises Snowy and Christmas bring from December 17th to 24th!

Does Splat get the very big Christmas present he is waiting for in Merry Christmas, Splat? He got one from Christmas and Snowy this morning (after they had done the washing up and somewhat haphazardly decorated the Christmas tree!).

Christmas and Snowy were waiting in the family ‘toadstool’ for Stick Man to return in time for Christmas. The three little sticks hope that it will be soon, they can’t wait to open their presents!

We found Christmas and Snowy looking inside a wardrobe, the question is whether the lion is fierce or friendly! We’ll have to read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe Picture Book to find out!

December 20th

Best friends like writing letters to each other, just like Herman and Henry in Herman’s Letter. We’re not sure if Snowy and Christmas have looked to see what is in the box though!

Weihnachten im Stall is Astrid Lindgren’s retelling of the Christmas story. Snowy and Christmas were watching the sheep when the angel came to tell them about the birth of baby Jesus.

December 22nd

A sleigh ride above London with Father Christmas just like Katie in Katie’s London Christmas!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All the Way! Snowy and Christmas are hoping that carrying lots of bells will keep the cat away like it did for the mice in Jingle Bells. This is a very special copy of the book signed by author / illustrator Nick Butterworth. The question is – when did Snowy and Christmas meet him?!

December 24th

Christmas and Snowy hung their stockings up and put food out for the reindeer a little bit early. The Night Before Christmas is the book that we like to read after we have hung up our stockings on Christmas Eve.

This is fabulous!! Such a great idea! We love books! Our daughter is 20 months old so this is the first Christmas she really knows what’s going on, but we feel like we have this year to test drive some things and then from next year she’ll be properly on board at nearly 3. Definitely suggesting this one to the OH.

At twenty months my daughter loved all the boxes and wrapping paper. This is a really lovely way to count down to Christmas and you don’t need to buy any books, you can take them out of the library 🙂

I love the different set ups you have each day! And that they’re based on the book of the day. Super creative!
