There is an interesting mix of old and new picture books in Story Snug’s top ten viewed posts 2013. Several books from my teaching practice days have had the most views but there are also some new favourites that have been published recently.
Number 10
Each Peach Pear Plum by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. Can you spot all the fairytale characters?

Number 9
One More Candle by Merry Susiarjo and Emmeline Pidgen. A lovely story about the relationship between two sisters.

Number 8
The Paper Dolls by Julia Donaldson and Rebecca Cobb. This book revived my childhood paper doll making skills!

Number 7
Little Cloud by Eric Carle. Inspiration for cloud watching!

Number 6
The Fairytale Hairdresser and Cinderella by Abie Longstaff and Lauren Beard. We love seeing which beauty treatments the nursery rhyme and fairytale characters choose!

Number 5
Kipper’s Birthday by Mick Inkpen. Kipper is an old favourite, he gets very confused on his birthday!

Number 4
Jolly Snow by Jane Hissey. All the familiar playroom characters do their best to show Jolly Tall what snow is.

Number 3
One Snowy Night (Percy the Park Keeper) by Nick Butterworth. A lovely story for a cold winter’s night.

Number 2
The Little Raindrop by Joanna Gray and Dubravka Kolanovic. A great story for introducing the water cycle.

And an old favourite of mine at Number 1!
Jasper’s Beanstalk by Nick Butterworth. The perfect book to read at the start of spring!
