My Very First Christmas Carols - Story Snug

Christmas Picture Books

If your thoughts are turning to reading or buying Christmas picture books here are some of the books that we recommended last year. We have more recommendations which we’ll publish over the next few weeks but we’d also love to hear about your favourites in the comments.

My Very First Christmas Carols - Story Snug

My First Christmas Carols is a lovely book and CD set which tells the Christmas story through narration and carols. It’s also a lovely book to use as the basis of a school Nativity play, particularly with a Nursery or Reception class.

Little Miss Christmas goes on holiday and leaves Mr Christmas and Father Christmas to wrap the last presents. Will they manage to get everything done in time or will they need to call for reinforcements?

When I Dream of Christmas - Story Snug

When I Dream of Christmas is a beautifully illustrated non fiction book about Christmas (also available as an eBook) which introduces children to many festive British traditions.

Stick Man is our favourite Christmas Eve story. When Stick Man rescues Santa from the chimney, Santa very kindly helps him out so he can spend the holiday with his family.

I am very interested in the “My Very First Christmas Carols”. Are those carols simple even for very young children? It looks like a great Christmas gift. Thank you for sharing with us at Kid Lit Blog Hop!

I bought My Very First Christmas Carols for my daughter just before her second birthday and she loved it – we had it on repeat play for the whole Christmas. At five she is already asking when we can have the carols book out, we’ve definitely had our money’s worth out of this book πŸ™‚

What a great starter list. One of our favorites is “Mooseltoe.” It makes us giggle and we also enjoy “Christmas in the Big Woods.”

Stopping by to say hello from the blog hop. Thanks for sharing your Christmas pick. The favorite Christmas picture book at our house has always been The Story of Christmas by Patricia A Pingry.

Thanks for visiting Story Snug Aileen. Telling The Story of Christmas in 200 words is quite a challenge! Thanks for your recommendation.
