Christmas Picture Books

If your thoughts are turning to reading or buying Christmas picture books here are some of the books that we recommended last year. We have more recommendations which we’ll publish over the next few weeks but we’d also love to hear about your favourites in the comments.

My First Christmas Carols is a lovely book and CD set which tells the Christmas story through narration and carols. It’s also a lovely book to use as the basis of a school Nativity play, particularly with a Nursery or Reception class.

  1. I am very interested in the “My Very First Christmas Carols”. Are those carols simple even for very young children? It looks like a great Christmas gift. Thank you for sharing with us at Kid Lit Blog Hop!

    • I bought My Very First Christmas Carols for my daughter just before her second birthday and she loved it – we had it on repeat play for the whole Christmas. At five she is already asking when we can have the carols book out, we’ve definitely had our money’s worth out of this book :)

  2. Great post and lovely to find another book worm! I love that there is a Little Miss Christmas! I will definitely be saving this list for when my LO is older. #mmbh
